It’s the weekend! And what could be better than a super tasty, hearty breakfast on a Sunday morning?
Delicious scrambled eggs, maybe a bit of bacon on the side, fresh spread and tasty jam. And a few freshly baked buns with it. A dream, right?
There is absolutely no reason not to enjoy this on Sundays! After all, we all want to enjoy life, and that includes a great breakfast with friends or family, or even alone.
If you still want to save a few calories and have a slightly healthier breakfast, you can try these delicious protein buns! We love them at least… and the great thing is, you can make them in any variation. Whether as normal buns, cheese buns, poppy seed buns or with sunflower/pumpkin seeds, you can prepare them according to your taste.
Ingredients & preparation
Ingredients for 6 small rolls
120g wheat flour (or wholemeal)
80g Whey Protein Neutral (we prefer the Total Protein from More Nutrition)
1 tub Skyr (150g)
100ml still water (or almond milk)
1 sachet baking powder
A pinch of salt
And seeds, poppy seeds, etc. as you like
Preparation
Veeeeery easy! 😉 Simply mix all the ingredients in a bowl, then form 6 small buns. Flatten them slightly and cut a small slit in the top (you can also make any pattern you like, this just helps to prevent them from bursting open badly)
Then put the balls in the oven at 180°C for about 15-20 minutes and they’re DONE!
Enjoy!
