Mobility – essential for our quality of life

Let’s start at the beginning with some basic information. The human body has over 600 muscles. All of them have a function. They allow unrestricted movement, support and strengthen our bones and joints. We also need muscles to laugh, but that’s not what this is about.

In our 20s and 30s, we feel fit and young and don’t want to think about ‘aging’. BUT… that’s exactly where the BUT comes in! What many people don’t know is that our muscles begin to break down from the age of 30. Yes, you read that right. Muscle breakdown begins in our prime if we don’t do something about it!

Of course, this is not a process that happens super-fast, and the muscles then slowly degrade. But – yes, there is another but here – this does not happen without further unpleasant processes in our body. For example, fat is then also increasingly stored. A creepy idea, isn’t it?

Sooner or later, restrictions in movement and thus quality of life are added. Nowadays, for example, we work a lot while sitting and at the PC, eat a bit of unhealthy comfort food, move little because we have no time, and bang, the fat percentage in the body increases, the muscles decrease and a few stupid movements and the herniated disc is just around the corner.

Yes, that’s a pretty drastic summary, but on the whole it’s the process that many experience.

Take good care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.(Jim Rohn)

As we age, we not only experience muscle loss but also a few difficulties with our weight. This is a normal process associated with a lack of exercise, an unhealthy, unbalanced diet, but also with chronic illnesses and/or hormonal changes in the body.

This makes it all the more important that we maintain our muscles and certainly don’t underestimate them! After all, they not only support our joints and bones and ensure our mobility, but they also burn calories – ingenious, isn’t it? That’s because our muscles are metabolically active tissue.

All these are pretty good arguments for maintaining your muscles, aren’t they? But let us give you an absolutely unbeatable argument: older people (aged 75+) who are mobile have an average of five years more life expectancy*! No kidding…

Being fit is not a goal, it’s a way of life!

So, sporting activity does not always have something to do with a fitness craze, bikini figure or similar. Rather, it has to do with how long we live and, above all, how!

If you still think that sport is not for you, then that is of course your decision, but if you want to do something for yourself, your body and, above all, your quality of life, then we are the right choice for you!
